This Is How Our Story Began
In 2015, Camille Friend began teaching master classes in wig work, recognizing the need to enhance certain skills in many hairstylists' repertoire. This led to the creation of Hairscholars, a platform dedicated to providing up-and-coming artists with mentorship, guidance, and vital skills for success in the film and TV industry.
Designed for professionals aspiring to work in entertainment, Hairscholars offers master classes and mentorship programs focused on specialty skills required for the film and TV business, while also offering an insider's look into the role of hairstylists, barbers, and makeup artists on set.
With over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Camille boasts an impressive list of film credits, including The Little Mermaid, Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Tenet, Charlie's Angels, Captain America: Civil War, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Parts 1 and 2, Django Unchained, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, among others. She was recognized for her exceptional work on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, receiving an Academy Award nomination.
As a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Camille's talents have been showcased throughout Hollywood, making her highly sought-after by producers, directors, and actors. Now, she generously shares her expertise with new and experienced professional stylists, barbers, and makeup artists through Hairscholars, promoting confidence, commitment, and integrity in the industry.
